Former Mississippi mayor among those arrested in raid of two CBD stores

A former mayor has been arrested during the raid of two Mississippi CBD stores.
WTVA in Tupelo reports that officials raided two CBD stores. One of the stores, called the Gas Station, was located across Commerce Street from the Aberdeen City Hall. The other store was located on Main Street in Amory.
During the raids, multiple people were arrested, including Maurice Howard, who served as the mayor of Aberdeen. Howard was removed from office in 2021 after he was accused of using money for personal use while traveling.
The following arrests and charges were made:
- Maurice Howard was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
- Kenyatta Howard was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
- Daniel Sanders was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics.
- Vernon Harrison was arrested and charged with the sale of narcotics.
