Mississippi Skies: Seasonable weather returning. Will colder temps bring a chance of snow?

If you celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas and hope for a white Christmas, you may be in luck!

Right now, models aren’t calling for much, if any, accumulation, but people in northern Mississippi may get some nice, fluffy snowflakes Thursday evening and overnight.

The warmth of the past few days will probably keep any chances of snow sticking to the ground at bay. Of course, snow forecasts are very difficult more than a day or two in our area, so we’ll keep a watch on the forecast models to see what direction they take the system.

North Mississippi

Partly sunny, becoming sunny with a high near 54. Clear in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy overnight. Low of 32.

Central Mississippi

Cloudy in the morning, becoming sunny in the afternoon. High of 56. Mostly clear overnight with a low of 35.

South Mississippi

Cloudy, then becoming mostly sunny with a high of 58. Becoming mostly cloudy overnight. Low of 37.

Gulf Coast

Partly sunny with a high of 61. Becoming mostly cloudy overnight with a low of 42.
