Teen arrested for burglary after leaving his wallet, returning to scene

A Mississippi teen was arrested for burglary of a residence after leaving his wallet at the scene, returning, and jumping out a second-floor window.

The Gulfport Police Department reported Wednesday that Amare Armon Sullivan, 18, Tuesday. He was charged with one count.

Officers responded to 31st Street just after noon Tuesday in reference to the burglary report.

“Officers were able to identify Sullivan due to him leaving his wallet on the scene, which contained his Mississippi Identification Card,” a GPD release stated. “Officers were called back to the residence at approximately 1:25 p.m. after Sullivan was observed back on the scene and inside of the residence. As officers arrived on scene, Sullivan fled through the apartment and jumped from the second-story window. Officers were able to apprehend Sullivan and placed him in custody.”

While being interviewed, Sullivan admitted culpability and stated, “The officers rolled in four to five deep and quick, at which point, I knew that I could not escape.”

Sullivan was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center to be held in lieu of his $25,000 bond.
