Mississippi Skies: Snowy weather chances increase for people in the right place

The chance for snow has increased for specific areas of Mississippi, especially for communities along the Tennessee border. Although we’re not expecting too much accumulation or dangerous impacts, some areas could get a decent snow shower Friday morning and Friday evening.

The rest of the state remains on the cool side with plenty of sunshine.

North Mississippi

A chance of rain and snow showers in the morning, then a chance for rain in the afternoon. High of 41 with winds up to 15 miles per hour. Increasing clouds with a chance for snow in the evening. Mostly cloudy overnight with a low of 28.

Central Mississippi

Widespread frost in the morning. Mostly sunny with a high of 49 with wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour. Widespread frost overnight with a low of 27.

South Mississippi

Frost in the morning, then sunny with a high of 52. Wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour. Frost overnight with a low of 30.

Gulf Coast

Sunn with a high of 54. Clear overnight with a low of 33.
