Mississippi Skies: Cold weather sticking around. What about wintry precip?

If you saw some snow the past couple of days, consider yourself lucky.

We’re staying on the cold side, but temperatures are creeping up a degree or two Saturday and Saturday night. The wind is also much calmer, so wind chills won’t be as drastic as the past couple of nights.

Some of us will have some clouds Saturday morning, but we’ll all have some sunshine by afternoon.

This weekend is much calmer. New Year’s Eve will be clear and cold, so grab a jacket while heading out.

North Mississippi

Partly sunny early, then clearing with a high of 50. Mostly clear Saturday night with a low of 32.

Central Mississippi

Plenty of frost early. Sunny with a high of 53. Frost overnight with a low of 30.

South Mississippi

Widespread frost early, then sunny with a high of 56. Frost overnight. Clear with a low of 31.

Gulf Coast

Sunny with a high of 57. Saturday night, clear with a low of 34.
