Mississippi man wins nearly quarter of a million dollars with holiday lottery win. Thousands more showered on lucky players.

Several Mississippi lottery players began the new year with thousands of dollars in winnings.

The biggest holiday winner may have been a Laurel man who won $247,500.19 on a Match 5 Lottery ticket from Ellisville Pit Stop LLC in Ellisville.

Other big winners from the week between Christmas and New Year’s include:

  • A Water Valley man won $100,000 on a Powerball from GPM #7260 in Water Valley.
  • A man from Coldwater who won $50,000 in the Powerball Lottery. The lucky winner’s ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball to win the $50,000 prize. The ticket was purchased from Coldwater Travel Center Inc. in Coldwater.
  • A Blue Mountain woman won $25,000 on five Cash 4 tickets from Buzzz’d in Ripley.
  • A Jackson man won $25,000 on a $2 scratch-off from JPK Food & Fuel in Jackson.
  • A Jackson woman won $10,000 on a $5 scratch-off from Thindz LLC Fill Up 8 in Ridgeland.
  • An Aberdeen woman won $5,400 on two Cash 4 tickets from Freshly Market in Aberdeen.
  • A Meridian woman won $5,000 on a Cash 4 from Citgo in Meridian.
  • A Vicksburg player won $5,000 on a Cash 4 drawing Dec. 26, 2023, according to the Mississippi Lottery website. The player won with the numbers “0519” and no Fireball option, spending $1 on the lottery ticket. The ticket was sold at Suds N Smokes, 3114 Halls Ferry Road.
