Authorities are on the lookout for a Mississippi woman wanted in connection with a December shooting.

Officials with the Vicksburg Police Department are looking for Octavia Wheatley, 43, of Vicksburg.

Wheatley is wanted for questioning after officers were dispatched to River Region Medical Center Fri., Dec. 29, in response to a shooting and found 44-year-old Robert Wheatley suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm.

The shooting, they said, took place at a residence on Jackson Street. The victim was later transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for further treatment.

VPD officials said anyone with information about Octavia Wheatley’s whereabouts should call the police department at 601-636-2511.
