Published 9:17 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024

A portion of Mississippi now has a risk for a few severe storms Friday evening and Friday night.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed a Level 1 risk along and near the Gulf Coast. Risks include a tornado or two, strong winds, hail, and heavy rain. The risks begin about 8 or 9 p.m. and continues overnight.

Otherwise, we’ll have plenty of rainfall across the state. Temperatures will be warmer with showers beginning mostly in the afternoon. Some rainfall overnight and Saturday morning could be on the heavy side.
