Man arrested in Chicago, extradited to Mississippi for September robbery

With the help of the Chicago Police Department, a Mississippi police force has the man for whom they been searching for more than three months.

Officers in Tupelo responded to an armed robbery Sept. 23, 2023, at a business on South Gloster Street.

Employees at the unidentified business reportedly told police the suspect allegedly used a firearm to take money and cellphones. After an investigation, a warrant was issued for Anthony E. Pierce, 53, of Calhoun City.

Pierce was arrested in Chicago Dec. 23, 2023, for traffic violations and was held on the warrant from Tupelo. According to TPD, he was then extradited to Mississippi.

On January 5, a Tupelo judge ordered Pierce to be held without bond.
