A 12-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by a log truck while trying to cross a Mississippi highway.

Officials with the Corinth Police Department report that the accident happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, at Cass Street and Highway 72 in Corinth.

Addison McGuire, 12, was reportedly trying to cross the highway at the intersection when she was hit by the log truck.

McGuire was transported to a Memphis hospital, where she was listed in critical condition Friday morning.
