Mississippi counties reporting icy roads at 6 p.m. Sunday

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is already reporting some problems on Mississippi roadways from snow, sleet, and freezing rain.

The Mississippi Delta and the I-55 corridor north of Winona are experiencing the worst of the treacherous conditions, but the roads are icing as far east as Holly Springs and Oxford. The icy conditions are expected to expand, especially with the sun setting and temperatures dropping.

These areas remain under a winter storm warning with two to six inches of snow possible with locally higher amounts. Snow, sleet, and freezing rain are likely from now until Monday night.
