Mississippi woman found dead inside her vehicle, thought to have died from hypothermia

Officials believe a Mississippi woman discovered unresponsive inside of her vehicle Tuesday night died from hypothermia.

The Rankin County Coroner’s Office reported the woman’s death, according to WLBT News in Jackson.

The woman’s vehicle was not running when she was discovered dead.

The Rankin County Coroner’s Office has not released the woman’s identity but did say she was 67-years old and from Florence. No other details in the case have been released.

The woman is the second hypothermia victim to have been reported since this week’s arctic blast moved through Mississippi.

A man in Sharkey County is also believed to have died from hypothermia after his body was discovered in an elementary school’s field.
