Bond was set for $15,000 for a Mississippi man accused of taking a vehicle.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, a resident reported their car vehicle was stolen Monday. A Mantachie Police Department officer located the vehicle near Highway 363. It was then Mantachie police and Itawamba County deputies arrested Nicholas Smith.

Smith was charged with felony taking of a motor vehicle. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.

“The Lee County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend their appreciation to The Mantachie Police Department and the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance,” the statement from Lee County Sheriff’s Department reads.
