Mississippi Skies: Severe weather possible Monday, Tuesday

We’re watching the possibility of severe weather Monday and Tuesday as we begin our wet week.

According to the Storm Prediction Center, a Level 1 risk includes a triangle region from Natchez to Vicksburg to Brookhaven Monday afternoon and region. Then, on Tuesday, a larger zone includes Monday’s area, plus a line from Greenville to Yazoo City to Laurel.

In both zones, threats are damaging winds and hail.

North Mississippi

Partly sunny with a high of 76. Increasing clouds Monday night with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Low of 59.

Central Mississippi

Patchy dense fog is possible in the morning. A slight chance of a shower in the afternoon. Partly sunny with a high of 76. Monday night, cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Low of 59.

South Mississippi

Dense fog is possible in the morning. Mostly cloudy with a high of 77. Showers and storms likely overnight with a low of 61.

Gulf Coast

Dense fog early. Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower. High of 74. Overnight, showers and storms possible. Low of 67.
