A 57-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on a rural Mississippi road Monday.

Officials in JonesCounty report that the head-on collision occurred shortly before 6 p.m.Monday on North Eastabuchie Road, outside the Eastabuchie community between Ellisville and Hattiesburg.

The 57-year-old driver of a Honda Crosstour involved in the wreck was declared dead at the scene.

Also injured in the crash was a 17-year-old female who was driving the second vehicle involved In the wreck, a Nissan Sentra. The 17-year-old female was transported to a local hospital.

No other people were reportedly involved in the accident.

The names of those involved in the wreck were not released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
