Drivers should expect slowdowns on Interstate 20 at the Mississippi River Bridge in Vicksburg today.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation issued a travel advisory for Mississippi drivers concerning a temporary lane closure on the I-20 westbound lanes.

The lane will be closed between approximately 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, to allow for ongoing bridge repair work being performed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

A load restriction of 12 feet will be in place during the lane closure. Motorists should anticipate moderate congestion during peak travel times and are advised to slow down and stay alert for roadside crews.
