Teens charged with armed robbery in Mississippi city

On Thursday, March 14, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Hattiesburg Police responded to a report of an armed robbery incident that occurred in the 6400 block of U. S. Hwy. 49.

When officers arrived, they were advised that two males entered the store and approached the counter, displaying handguns. The suspects allegedly stole multiple items from behind the counter before fleeing.

Hattiesburg police were able to locate the suspects, both juveniles, at their residence Tuesday. The juveniles were taken into custody and confessed to their involvement in the incident.

One 16-year-old male was charged with one count of armed robbery, and the other juvenile, a 17-year-old male, was charged with three counts of armed robbery: one count from the aforementioned incident and two counts for his involvement in two separate armed robbery incidents that occurred earlier this year.

Both have been charged as adults and have been booked into Forrest County Jail.
