A Mississippi police department arrested a man Sunday for allegedly choking his girlfriend.

According to the Tupelo Police Department, officers responded to Deer Park Road for a domestic violence report.

“Officers spoke with a female victim who reported that an altercation took place, and she was choked by Reginald Hill, her boyfriend,” information from the department reads. “Officers were able to locate Hill nearby and took him into custody for domestic violence. After investigating, charges for Hill were upgraded to two counts of Aggravated Domestic Violence.

Hill had an initial appearance Tuesday in Tupelo Municipal Court where bond was denied.
