Mississippi man arrested after leading police on chase

A suspect is in custody after leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit throughout the Central Community in George County Thursday night.
The pursuit ended in a two-vehicle crash involving a Mississippi Highway Patrol vehicle with minor injuries reported.
Austin Butler, 28, Lucedale, is currently being charged with Felony Fleeing, Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, as well as, several traffic violations. He is currently being held at the George County Regional Correctional Facility pending an initial appearance with a George County Justice Court Judge.
Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said he would like to thank the Mississippi Highway Patrol, ASAP Ambulance Service, the Central Volunteer Fire Department, George County Emergency Management Agency, and Singing River Electric for their immediate response and assistance with this incident.
