Mississippi man wanted by authorities drives SUV off road, drops 150 feet down gully

A Mississippi man is behind bars after he drove an SUV off the road and then dropped 150 feet down a gully.

Roy Ray III, 23, of Natchez, called Adams County E-911 dispatchers at approximately 8:27 p.m. on Wednesday to report the accident off Liberty Road and request an ambulance. Ray was driving a 2007 red Dodge Caliber SUV.

Dispatchers called off the response by an ambulance when Ray was discovered to be walking around and uninjured at the scene.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten reports that Ray is alive and well and in the Adams County Jail Thursday morning.

Adams County Sheriff’s deputies discovered Ray had arrest warrants from federal parole officers and the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The U.S. Marshal Service also had an active warrant for his arrest for parole violations. Ray is expected to be held until he is extradited on those warrants.
