A Mississippi man is facing multiple charges after a double shooting and kidnapping of a two-year-old.

The incident occurred Friday afternoon inside the City of Laurel at Shadowood Park Apartments on Old Amy Road. According to WDAM, Jones County Coroner Burl Hall identified the murdered victim as Kendale Hunter.

The Laurel Police Department arrested Deion Dobbins, 29, and charged him with murder, attempted murder, and kidnapping.

WDAM reported police responded to a shooting and found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds. As they were helping her, they heard more gunshots and found another victim.

The first victim was able to identify the alleged suspect and police found him outside in a vehicle with the child. Police said the child was in good condition.
