Two people killed, two seriously injured during lunch hour accident on Mississippi highway

Two people are dead, and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident on a Mississippi highway during lunch hour Wednesday.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) reported that the collision occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on  Highway 11. The accident claimed the lives of a Picayune couple and left a woman and 4-year-old child seriously injured.

Lisa Stockstill, 57, was driving a 2014 Honda Civic with her husband, Kevin Stockstill, 63, as a passenger. Both were residents of Picayune. Their northbound Civic collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 30-year-old woman from Pearl River, Louisiana, traveling south on Highway 11. Accompanying the woman was a 4-year-old child.

Officials report that the Stockstills succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the woman and child survived but sustained severe injuries.

The MHP continues to investigate the crash’s circumstances, seeking to determine its cause and any contributing factors.
