A two-year-old Mississippi girl has died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday morning.

WTVA News in Tupelo reports that officials from the Lee County Coroner’s Office say the girl was struck by a vehicle on Third Avenue in Saltillo at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday, April 21.

The child was taken to a Tupelo hospital and then flown to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, where the child later died.

The name of the child has not been released.

The Saltillo Police Department is investigating the crash.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the incident was likely an accident. No arrests have been made in the case.
