A Mississippi man was arrested Saturday after a fight during the Morgan Wallen concert.
A disturbance erupted at the concert held at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, leading to the arrest of Hunter Steven Flanagan, 30, of Colia, by deputies from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident unfolded when deputies, assisting the University of Mississippi Police Department with event security, were alerted to a fight among the concert crowd. Responding swiftly, law enforcement officers identified and apprehended Flanagan for allegedly assaulting another concertgoer.
However, the situation escalated as Flanagan resisted arrest, displaying combative behavior towards the officers. During the arrest process, Flanagan kicked two officers and spat on them. Despite attempts to subdue him, Flanagan continued his aggressive actions.
Following the altercation, Flanagan was charged by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office with one count of simple assault on a police officer. Additionally, the University of Mississippi Police Department filed a separate charge of simple assault on a police officer against him, alongside several other misdemeanor charges.
Appearing before a Justice Court Judge on Monday, Flanagan’s bond was set at $100,000. He remains in custody at the Lafayette County Detention Center pending bond arrangements.
