A Mississippi man was killed after he was ejected from the motorcycle he was operating on a rural Mississippi highway Wednesday night.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol report that Herman East, 48, of Jackson was killed in a motorcycle crash on MS-27 South near Country Brown Rd. in Warren County. 

East was reportedly driving a 2007 Harley Davidson and was traveling south on MS-27 when it ran off the road and was ejected from the motorcycle, sustaining life-threatening injuries. 

East was transported to Merit Health Hospital in Vicksburg, and was later pronounced deceased due to his injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
