An elderly couple were found dead after police responded to a home invasion in Meridian.

WTOK in Meridian reports that the Lauderdale Coroner’s Office has identified the couple as 97-year-old Miles Herrington and 94-year-old Ina Herrington.

The couple were found dead by officers with the Meridian Police Department in a house near the intersection of 36th Avenue and North Hills Street.

Officers and first responders received a call about a home invasion on Thursday. After they arrived on the scene, officers found the couple deceased in the house.

Officials with the Meridian Police Department continue to investigate and said they will release more information about the case at later time.
