Those in Mississippi who wish for a faster way to satisfy their Chipotle cravings will get their wishes granted on Tuesday when the fast-casual restaurant opens the state’s first “Chipotlane.”

Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening its second location in Oxford on Tuesday. With it will be the company’s signature “Chipotlane,” a drive-thru pickup lane that allows guests to pick up digital orders without leaving their cars.

The new Chipotle will be located at 702 Sisk Avenue and will be open every day from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Chipotle currently operates 10 other restaurants in Mississippi — in D’Iberville, Flowood, Madison, Oxford, Starkville, Olive Branch, Tupelo, Pearl, Ridgeland and Southaven. Founded in 1993, the restaurant chain has close to 3,500 restaurants in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

Oxford will be the first Mississippi city to have two locations when the restaurant on Sisk Avenue opens on Tuesday.

In May 2018, Chipotle introduced the Chipotlane and began testing it in the U.S. The Chipotlane acts as a drive-thru, but it is for mobile order pickup only; customers are unable to order food at the handout window but are welcome to pick up their mobile orders through the Chipotlane or inside the restaurant. As of 2023, there were more than over 500 locations with a Chipotlane.
