Three months after calling police to report he found his mother dead, the Mississippi man is now behind bars for her murder.
Michael Grayer, 43, was arrested Wednesday by Jackson Police for the murder of his mother, Charlean Grayer.
On Jan. 23, 2024, police discovered the body of Charlean Grayer inside a home in the 100 block of Stokes Robertson Road. Michael Grayer reportedly called 911 and initially told police he found his mother’s body inside the home.
Officials report that Michael Grayer used the name “Alexander Grayer” when he contacted police in January.
Police said Charlean Grayer died from a single gunshot wound, and investigators recovered a single shell casing at the scene.
Police have not released a motive in the case, which remains under investigation by the Jackson Police.
