Two women arrested for stealing from Mississippi businesses

Two Mississippi women have been arrested after they reportedly shoplifted more than $1,000 worth of merchandise.
One of the women was also identified as a suspect in two previous grand larceny cases.
On April 30, officers with the Tupelo Police Department were dispatched to a business in the Barnes Crossing area. Upon arrival, officers were informed that two individuals had shoplifted over $1,000 worth of merchandise from the business.
Marie M. Thomas, 53, of Mooreville, and  Brandy Allred, 42, of Nettleton, were arrested and charged with Felony Shoplifting. in the case.
Police also found that Allred had multiple active arrest warrants through Tupelo Municipal Court.
The Tupelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division was also investigating two Grand Larceny cases that occurred in February at a business on South Green Street. In both cases, Allred was identified as a suspect.
In addition to the Felony Shoplifting charge, Allred was charged with two counts of Grand Larceny.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Allred to be held on a $50,000 bond.
Allen also ordered Thomas to be held on a $5,000 bond.
The charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
