Two days after a group of teens fishing in a Mississippi pond discovered a human leg, officials say more remains have been found in the water and on the shore.
WAPT News in Jackson reports that Rankin County Coroner David Ruth said on Tuesday that remains will sent for DNA testing to determine the identity of the person and the cause of death.
Ruth said it was too early to tell if there was any wrongdoing involved in the death.
The inquiry kicked off around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday when a group of teens fishing near Mangum Road discovered a human leg. The teen apparently hooked a sock that was attached to the leg. Investigators said they are uncertain how long the leg had been there.
The pond is known to be home to alligators.
