Mississippi doctor charged with manslaughter, accused of exceeding 100 mph in car before fatal wreck

A Mississippi doctor has been arrested, accused of driving recklessly and causing a fatal wreck.

WTVA in Tupelo reports that Michael Hawley, 44, of Corinth, turned himself into the Corinth Police Department Tuesday.

Hawley has been charged with manslaughter culpable negligence in connection with an April 25 wreck that resulted in the death of William Pady, 81, of Glen.

The wreck happened on Highway 72, where Hawley’s car collided with an SUV.

Police report that Hawley was driving recklessly and at speeds exceeding 100 mph in a 45 mph zone just before the crash.
