Former Mississippi police officer, wife arrested for murder a year and a half after child’s death

A former Mississippi police officer and his wife were arrested in West Virginia on murder charges related to the 2022 of their 4-month-old child.
WTVA in Tupelo reports that Donovan Jeffers, 24, and Quiyona Pederson, 25, were arrested last week in West Virginia.
In November 2022, the child of Jeffers, a former West Point police officer, and Pederson was taken to the hospital for brain and spinal injuries. Medical examiners have identified the cause of death as shaken baby syndrome and homicide.
The couple were arrested Tuesday and booked into the Clay County Jail.
