A juvenile was injured and had to be airlifted to a hospital late Saturday afternoon after an ATV accident at a Mississippi trail ride and family celebration.

Adams County Sheriff’s Deputies planned to block off U.S. 84 near Windy Hill Road for the rescue helicopter to land. However, the nearby Core Civic Correctional Facility permitted the helicopter to land on its property.

The juvenile and another person were in a 4-wheeler accident at the annual Fleming Crawfish Boil and Trail Ride, a private event on Windy Hill Road.

The injured juvenile is suspected to have a broken leg. The other injured person was transported to a hospital in a private vehicle.

No other information is available about the accident.
