When officers arrived at the business, they discovered a felonious amount of merchandise had been stolen from the store. In Mississippi, a felony shoplifting charge is made when more than $1,000 of merchandise is suspected to have been stolen from a business.

Borden was taken before a Municipal Court judge for her initial bond hearing and was issued a $5,000 bond.
