Mississippi’s newest water park, which will include everything from classic water slides and a large play structure for kids and a lazy river and swim-up bar for adults, is set to open on Memorial Day.
Serengeti Springs at The Hattiesburg Zoo will offer safari-themed aquatic thrills to South Mississippi and beyond.
The water park features TreeTop Trek, a large play structure and splash pad encompassing over 17,000 square feet, small kid-friendly slides and activities at its base, and dozens of spraying water elements. The park will also have five bigger slides that offer more thrills. Reptile Racers pits individuals in a race to the finish line. The largest slide, Serengeti Swirl, spins adventurers around a vast champagne bowl. Blue Rapid Run and Feather Flight have twists and turns the entire way down. Peacock Plunge maneuvers guests through a tunnel illuminated with aqualucent elements before opening for a lengthy descent.
The park will also have a meandering stream called Polé-Polé River, which will span 436 feet, wrap around lush island greenery and connect to Habari Sips a swim-up bar for guests over the age of 21. The bar will offer snacks and lunch items plus an extensive menu of frozen concoctions and adult beverages.
Lined with cabanas and lounge chairs, the waterpark provides ample space for serenity between splashes.
Serengeti Springs at the Hattiesburg Zoo will open on May 25. The waterpark will feature multiple safari-themed water slides, splash pads and a lazy river.
Parkgoers will be able to enjoy pizza and tacos from the park’s food trucks or grab a cocktail at the swim-up bar.
