UPDATE: Yalobusha County Coroner Ronnie Stark has confirmed two people died in a fatal house explosion, according to WTVA News in Tupelo.

Stark says their bodies are being sent to the state crime lab for identification and autopsy.

At least one person was killed after an explosion at a Mississippi residence on Memorial Day.

WTVA News in Tueplo reports that authorities are investigating the explosion at a residence on County Road 272 in Tillatoba in Yalobusha County.

The explosion occurred sometime Monday evening, according to officials.

Yalobusha County Coroner Ronnie Stark confirmed to WTVA Monday night that three people were inside the house at the time of the explosion but that it is unclear how many died in the explosion. At least one fatality has been confirmed.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
