Mississippi traffic stop leads to discovery of vehicle packed with more than 50 pounds of marijuana

A Mississippi traffic stop led to two arrests after the discovery of more than 50 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.

Officials with the Pontotoc Sheriff’s Department posted on Facebook reporting the arrest of Ty’jhai Davis, 21, from Loganville, Georgia, and Cally Pusey, 23, from Covington, Georgia.

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department reports that the couple were arrested and charged on Sunday afternoon May 26, 2024.

The Narcotics Division of the CID, while conducting daytime Narcotics Operations patrolling the highways, county roads, and streets of Pontotoc County, arrested Davis and Pusey after a traffic stop.

During the traffic stop, a strong odor of Marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle.

Upon executing a search of the vehicle, over 50 pounds of Marijuana was discovered.

The two were charged by CID with Trafficking of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana.

The two were booked into the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department Adult Detention Center.

A Justice Court Judge set a Bond of $15,000 for each suspect on the Trafficking Charge.
