A routine safety checkpoint for Mississippi State Troopers turned into a chase of a man on a four-wheeler down on railroad tracks.
WTVA News in Tupelo reports that troopers were conducting a checkpoint on Highway 25 in Dennis, Mississippi, on May 27 when a man on a four-wheeler approached the checkpoint.
The man, later identified as Ricky Don Thorn, took off and started driving on a nearby railroad track to evade officers.
The trooper ran after him and chased him. During the chase, one of the troopers was reportedly hit by Thorn.
