One girl dead, another sent to hospital after Amber Alert issued for missing children. Mother found brutally slain.

One of two girls who went missing and for whom an Amber Alert was issued to cellphones across the state Thursday has been found dead.

On Thursday, an Amber Alert was issued for a 4-year-old girl and her 6-year-old sister after their mother, Callie Brunett, was found brutally slain in her Louisiana home. Brunett and the children had been missing for 24 hours before she was found dead.

WLBT News reports that on Thursday afternoon, the body of a girl believed to be the 4-year-old girl was found in the woods along Boozier Drive in Jackson. The 6-year-old has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police report that a suspect, identified as Daniel Callihan, has been taken into custody. Police officers were calledto Boozier Drive after the suspect’s car was spotted nearby. He was arrested by U.S. Marshals after leading authorities on a chase.
