Police have arrested a 15-year-old Mississippi girl who is accused of stabbing her mother while she was sleeping and trying to start a fire in her house.

Gulfport police have arrested Lexi Jade Brown, 15, after officers found Brown’s mother suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Officers believe Brown attempted to kill her mother while she was asleep in bed. According to investigators, Brown’s mother awoke to her daughter attacking her with a knife.

Police also believe that Brown attempted to start a fire inside the house where her mother was sleeping.

Brown is now charged with attempted murder and first-degree arson. She was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and was issued a $1,250,000 bond by Judge Patano.

The mother was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

WLOX in Biloxi reports that Brown told police that she had been planning to kill her mother because she found her mother to be a ‘weird b*tch’ and accused her of ‘suppressing the black in her.’
