Mississippi teen charged with rape and burglary after reported sexual assault

A Mississippi teen has been charged with rape and burglary in connection with a reported sexual assault.
On May 18, 2024, the Oxford Police Department responded to Baptist Memorial Hospital regarding a reported sexual assault.
After an investigation, Jaydarrious Mitchell, 18, of Oxford, MS, was arrested and charged with Rape and Burglary.
Mitchell was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing and was issued a $250,000 bond for Rape and a $10,000 bond for Burglary.
“We would like to thank the U.S. Marshals Service and Desoto County Sheriff’s Office for their help with this case,” a news release from the Oxford Police Department said.
