Two people were killed when a pickup truck collided with a car on a rural Mississippi highway Thursday.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol report that the fatal crash on Highway 371 in Itawamba County occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The crash reportedly involved a southbound pickup truck colliding with a northbound car.

The driver of the truck, a 16-year-old boy from Mooreville, and a passenger in the car, Alexis Hawkins, 25, died at the scene of the crash.

MHP did not name the teenager because the victim was underage.
