A Mississippi woman has been arrested after her child tested positive for narcotics.

Lafayette County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit received a report on June 19 from Lafayette County Child Protective Services regarding a child who tested positive for narcotics.

The child’s mother, Chelsea Elizabeth Bennett, 26, of Abbeville, was arrested and charged with one count of child endangerment.

Bennett was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and later was released on a $5,000 bond.
