Mississippi man faces 4 capital murder charges — including death of unborn child

A Mississippi man has been charged with four counts of capital murder eight months after a pregnant woman, her unborn child and two other people were killed in a car crash.

Monterrius Woods, 20, of Tunicam, has been charged in the deaths of Steven Burts, 23 of Dundee, Deshun Isabell, 24, of Tunica, Tednequa Moore, 25, of Robinsonville and Moore’s unborn child.

Officials with the Tunica Sheriff’s Office report that four were killed by injuries sustained in a drive-by shooting that also ended with a crash in Robinsonville in November 2023.

Woods has also been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, drive-by shooting, and shooting into a motor vehicle.

He is already in custody in the DeSoto County Jail for unrelated charges.
