Authorities are currently engaged in a standoff with an armed individual barricaded at a residence on Dixon Road in the Red Water Community in Leake County, according to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

The standoff, which involves Choctaw Police and other local law enforcement agencies, has prompted authorities to urge residents to avoid the area for their safety.

As a precaution, officers are assisting with the dismissal of individuals from the nearby Clinic and Childcare Center. Additionally, attendees and staff of the Red Water Boys & Girls Club have been relocated to Red Water Elementary School.
