Police say a man purposely ran over a person multiple times in a Mississippi liquor store parking lot Monday.

On Monday, Jackson Police found a dead body in the parking lot of the Liquor Connection on I-55 South Frontage Road.

Police say a tip from a witness and evidence from surveillance video led to the arrest of Jamarl Chamblieiss, 35.

The motive behind the incident remains unclear.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

WLBT News in Jackson reports that the death is the city’s 58th homicide of the year.
