Juvenile rescued, two arrested in human trafficking investigation at Mississippi hotel

Police say they rescued a female juvenile and arrested two women at a Mississippi hotel in a human trafficking investigation.
Tupelo police arrested two Memphis women, Terraneika Poplar, 19, and Destiney Plummer, 20, on human trafficking charges following a tip about possible prostitution at a local motel on Monday, July 8.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals in a room and were able to rescue a female juvenile at the scene.
Tupelo Police Chief John Quaka expressed his dismay over the crime, emphasizing the department’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to ensure that offenders involved in such crimes are brought to justice.
Officials report that a female juvenile was rescued at the scene.
Tupelo Police were assisted by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services and the Center for Violence Prevention.
