A man was recently attacked by a bull shark while he and other members of his dive club were spearfishing in the Mississippi Gulf.

With his right arm bandaged up and in a sling, Wesley Fayard told his harrowing story to WLOX News in Biloxi.

Unlike recent reports of shark attacks along Gulf Coast and East Coast beaches, Fayard was 100 feet down in the water with fish on his stringer when a shark appeared out of nowhere and attacked without warning.

Fayard said he sees sharks occasionally while spearfishing, which usually provides ample opportunity to react. This shark, on the other hand, decided differently.
