Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves posed a question to state residents and other people paying close attention to the 2024 U.S. Presidential Race.
“Have you ever seen a politician so strong and talented he made his opponent quit in the middle of the race?” Reeves posted on social media. “I have: Donald J. Trump.”
Reeves question on x.com, formerly Twitter, was in response to President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 U.S. presidential race.

Biden ended his reelection bid Sunday following his disastrous debate with Donald Trump that raised doubts about his fitness for office just four months before the election.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a letter posted to his X account.
The decision follows increasing pressure from Biden’s Democratic allies to step down after the June 27 debate, where the 81-year-old president often trailed off, gave nonsensical answers, and did not challenge the former president’s many falsehoods. Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take on Trump and urged his party to unite behind her.
Biden intends to complete the remainder of his term, which concludes at noon ET on January 20, 2025.
Nearly 30 minutes later, Biden throw his support behind Harris, the party’s instant favorite for the nomination at its August convention in Chicago.
