A Mississippi man who was able to locate his stolen vehicle by tracking the AirPods inside it discovered that it was one of many stolen vehicles recovered on Marydale Drive in South Jackson.
WLBT reports that Victor Porter’s 2019 Hyundai was one of at least eight stolen vehicles Jackson Police recovered from the same address.
Porter was one of the many owners who showed up to claim their property on Marydale Drive.
JPD officials report that they recovered a white Toyota Camry that was carjacked the same day on Terry Road. Also among the stolen vehicles were one Chevy Camaro, one Ford Taurus, and one Jeep Cherokee and four Hyundais, including Porter’s.
Porter told WLBT that his car was found with some spent shells inside, evidence that it might have been used in another crime.
The vehicles were recovered after a joint effort between the Jackson Carjacking Task Force and the Jackson Police Department. The U.S. Attorney’s office established the task force in April.
Officers said they have no suspects or suspect information and have not ruled out this Marydale Drive location as a possible chop shop.
